When you make a graphical representation of data such as in a graph or bar chart, you need to be careful to make sure the graphics do not misrepresent the reality of the numbers. The same can be true of statistics. Clever, but dishonest, statisticians can present data in such a way to make it seem better or worse than it actually is.
