2026 Heroes of Character Celebration

In 2025, the Character Council celebrated its 25th anniversary – a milestone that reminds us how powerful character can be when a community nurtures it together. After a quarter century, our mission to foster character development in children and adults is more relevant than ever. We are not only thriving as an organization; we are growing because of the collective commitment of people like you. When our community invests in character, we all thrive.

We gathered as one community to celebrate good character and honor the best among us. Thank you to those that were there and for contributing to the spirit of unity that defines this event. Every person that was there plays a role in shaping a community where character is lived, taught, and shared.

We are grateful to Tyler Bradshaw, our emcee, for bringing his energy, humor, and brilliant keynote address to this year’s celebration. We are honored to recognize Don Larrick, retired Principal and devoted educator from the Three Rivers School District as out Pillar of Character – a shining example of how one person’s dedication can uplift an entire community.

We celebrated 26 adult and student Heroes of Character and 12 finalists from across the tri-state region. Through their video stories, you’ll see how character takes root and grows in many forms. Their stories remind us that thriving is not a solo journey. It is something we build through kindness, courage, and connection.

Above all, Don is a man of deep commitment. His 58 year marriage to his wife, Sharon, stands as a testament to loyalty and love that is rare in today’s world.
