For the Faithful
Endurance
Staying committed and effective under pressure or prolonged effort
Our current faith‑based resources are written from a Christian perspective, but we know that many other faith traditions also nurture strong character, and we want to honor and uplift that diversity.
We are actively seeking contributors from additional faith traditions who would like to help us expand this section. If you are interested, we would be grateful to partner with you.
Endurance helps believers remain faithful through trials.
When we stay committed to God’s work, we grow in spiritual maturity and hope. Endurance reflects trust in God’s promises.
Essay
Sacred or Scared?
by Jill Tomey
When we are in the midst of trials, we can feel scared. As a person of faith, we can turn scared into sacred. It is more than just switching two letters. We need to find the holy in what we are Enduring. By offering up our suffering and joining it to the cross, we give our pain meaning and make it sacred. It is much easier to Endure a hardship when it has purpose. When we choose sacred over scared, we can strengthen our Faith and Endurance by responding in prayer and acceptance. The more we Endure, the more we build our Endurance and with it, hope for successful resolutions.
What will you place at the foot of the cross?
