Collaboration enriches schools by uniting staff, students, and families around shared goals.
When educators work together, learning becomes more effective and support systems grow stronger. Collaboration builds a community where everyone contributes to student success.

Collaboration in the Classroom
by Kathy Wagonfield, retired elementary school principal, Hamilton City School District
As a new school year approaches, few words are more important than collaboration. Great things happen when people work together toward a common goal. In schools, collaboration means teachers sharing ideas, students learning from one another, parents partnering with educators, and community members investing in the success of children. When we combine our strengths, talents, and perspectives, we create opportunities that none of us could accomplish alone!
Collaboration builds trust, strengthens relationships, and creates a sense of belonging. It reminds us that educating children is not the responsibility of one person or one group—it is a shared commitment. As we begin another school year, may we embrace collaboration as a guiding character trait, seeking opportunities to listen, support, encourage, and work together to help every child thrive!
Character Challenge for July: Ask yourself, "Who can I partner with to make a positive difference?" Small acts of collaboration often lead to extraordinary results.
