Our
Plan for Achieving Our Goals
The Character Council is committed to encouraging good character
qualities in each citizen of our community. Each month, one character
quality will be highlighted through public service announcements,
billboards, media coverage and other means directed to each citizen.
At the same time, the Character Council will encourage all segments
of our community to support the same character quality among its
members. The Character Council wishes to encourage all organizations
focusing on good character development, and to offer materials,
trainers, consultants and other resources both to them and others
wishing to join the community-wide effort.

Is Character?

quality is a habit, a usual pattern of thinking, speaking or acting.
Good character qualities, like any habit, can be developed by making
decisions and taking actions that reinforce that habit.

What
Is a Character City?
Mayors and city councils across America and throughout the world
are voting to become Character Cities. Leaders representing each
sector of the community then form a committee to design ways of
encouraging good character within their city. The result is a community
consensus to live by time-honored and universally recognized character
qualities.
