RESOURCEFUL COUPLE BLESS THEIR COMMUNITY

Gilmore and Golda Reynolds were married in 1928 and lived all of their lives in the littletown of Osgood, Indiana. Gilmore began his career as a partner in an auto dealership and later ventured into a candy and tobacco business that grew into a popcorn business in the1930's and 1940's. This business was followed by the formation of a gas company that was sold to a major supplier of bottled gas. Golda was a teacher for ten years and then partnered with her husband in his business ventures. They lived modestly and invested wisely and both lived into their 90's. Unknown to their community, this unassuming couple build an estate that, upon the death of Golda, became the Gilmore & Golda Reynolds Foundation, worth $22 million. Their resourceful use of their time, talents and energy created a Foundation that is today promoting the quality of life in their town, years after they are gone.
