DORCAS

There was once a kind woman named Dorcas who loved Jesus. Because she loved Jesus, Dorcas showed concern and consideration for others by doing things for them such as making clothes. One day, Dorcas died. The people were very sad. A man named Peter was nearby. He came and prayed, and Dorcas was brought back to life. Can you imagine someone coming back to life? The people she had done kind things for were very happy that she was alive. Now she could continue to do kind things for others.

God rewarded Dorcas’s gentle nature. He brought her back to life, so she could do more good things, and he gave her an eternal reward. The Bible tells us that many people heard about her coming back to life and believed in Jesus because of this. Dorcas is rewarded by the gratitude of all the people who were saved because she loved God, who let her live again because the people needed her help.

[Acts 9:36-42]
